AstraZeneca seeks a Product Owner to manage omics and data platforms serving cancer and translational research. This Barcelona-based role involves owning platform roadmaps, vendor relationships, and quality for the cancer genomics portal and single-cell analytics tools while ensuring FAIR data principles and integration across the sample-to-insight pipeline.

Responsibilities

- Own roadmap and backlog for cancer genomics portal and single-cell/spatial analytics platforms; prioritize work with engineering and vendors
- Manage vendor relationships, license renewals, and contract negotiations; prepare business cases for procurement and finance
- Ensure platforms meet service levels; coordinate incidents, releases, and upgrades with engineering and support teams
- Apply FAIR data principles and metadata standards; define secure interfaces between platforms and AI tools
- Monitor data privacy, access controls,



and data residency compliance; maintain documentation for audit and review

Requirements

- 5+ years managing omics data platforms or bioinformatics tools in pharmaceutical or translational research
- Product owner or product manager experience with ownership of scientific platforms
- Understanding of genomic, transcriptomic, single-cell, or spatial data and scientific workflows
- Experience managing vendor relationships, licenses, and procurement processes
- Knowledge of FAIR data principles, metadata standards, and cloud-based data environments
- Understanding of data privacy regulations and controlled handling of human-derived data
- Ability to communicate effectively with both scientists and engineers
