About the Role

Our client, a leader in the industrial sector with significant mining interests, is seeking a proactive and analytical Reliability Engineer to enhance the operational performance and longevity of critical mining equipment. This role, located in Mérida, Yucatán, MX , is pivotal in developing and implementing strategies to minimize equipment failures, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance costs. The adecuado candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, combined with proven experience in reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), predictive maintenance technologies, and root cause analysis (RCA). You will work collaboratively with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure the highest levels of asset integrity and operational availability. Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs for mining equipment.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures to identify and address underlying issues.
- Utilize predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis) to forecast potential failures.
- Analyze equipment failure data to identify trends and areas for reliability improvement.
- Develop and maintain reliability databases and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to optimize preventive maintenance schedules.
- Provide technical support and recommendations for equipment upgrades and replacements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations related to maintenance activities.
- Contribute to the development of maintenance budgets and strategies.
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in asset reliability management.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance, or a related technical role, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Strong knowledge of RCM, RCA, FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), and other reliability methodologies.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Familiarity with mining equipment and operations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in Mexico.
