The research assistant will join a multidisciplinary project team led by Nuria Sebastian, director of the Speech Acquisition and Perception lab, https://www.upf.edu/web/sap, Center for Brain and Cognition, https://www.upf.edu/web/cbc, Pompeu Fabra University. The position is supported by Grant PID2024-155658NB-I00 funded by MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by “ERDF A way of making Europe”

The research aims at exploring the impact of language distance in early (simultaneous) bilingualism on fundamental processes of speech perception. To this end we plan to test a diverse sample of simultaneous bilinguals in adulthood.

La investigació pretén explorar l'impacte de la distància lingüística en el bilingüisme precoç (simultani) en els processos fonamentals de percepció de la parla. Amb aquesta finalitat, tenim previst estudiar una mostra diversa de bilingües simultanis en l'edat adulta.

Funció a desenvolupar/ Tasks to be performed:

L'auxiliar de recerca:

• Assistència en la recollida de dades d'EEG

• Preprocessament d'EEG

• Suport en anàlisis estadístiques

• Assistència en la redacció d'articles

• EEG preprocessing

• Support in statistical analyses

• Assist with article writing

La durada d'aquestes tasques s'estima en un període de 12 mesos./ The duration of these tasks is estimated over a period of 12 months

Retribució prevista aproximada/ Planned remuneration approx: 14.990,12€ brut per any/ 14.990,12€ gross per year

Criteris de selecció/ Selection criteria: La selecció dels candidats es farà mitjançant valoració del currículum i, si escau, amb la realització d’una prova i/o entrevista. La valoració serà la següent:/ The selection of the candidates will be made through evaluation of the curriculum and, where appropriate, with the carrying out a test and/or interview. Valuation will be as follows:

La puntuació mínima per passar el procés de selecció és de 70 punts. La persona candidata que hagi obtingut la puntuació més alta en el procés de selecció serà l’adjudicatària del lloc de treball./ The minimum score to pass the selection process is 70 points. The candidate with the highest score in the selection process will be offered the job.

1. Formació acadèmica (0-40 punts).

- Grau en Psicologia o similar.

- Màster en Neurociència Cognitiva o similar.

2. Altra formació i experiència professional, adequació al perfil proposat (0-40 punts)

- Experiència en un laboratori de neurociència cognitiva

- Experiència en la recollida i anàlisi de dades d'EEG.

3. Altres mèrits (0-20 punts)

- Bons coneixements de MATLAB i Python

- Coneixements avançats d’estadística

- Nivell alt d'anglès i de castellà i/o català

- Capacitat de comunicació acadèmica oral i escrita

- Pot començar novembre de 2026.

1. Academic Training (0-40 points)

- Undergraduate degree in Psychology or similar.

- Master in Cognitive Neuroscience or similar.

2. Other professional training and experience, adequacy to the proposed profile (0-40 points):

- Experience in a Cognitive Neuroscience Lab

- Experience with EEG data collection and analysis.

3. Other merits (0-20 punts):
