Our partner is looking for a Backend Software Engineer based in Spain. This role sits at the core of a modern cloud-native platform used by thousands of developers worldwide to build and deploy scalable applications. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining the backend systems that power critical infrastructure, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability at every level. The work spans distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and database optimization in a fast-moving engineering environment. You will collaborate closely with frontend engineers and DevOps teams to deliver seamless end-to-end functionality. Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs supporting a high-availability cloud platform Develop and evolve microservices architecture to ensure performance, scalability, and fault tolerance Optimize database structures and queries to improve system efficiency and reliability Collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end features Participate in technical discussions, architecture decisions, and code reviews to maintain engineering quality standards Contribute to continuous improvement of backend systems,
