Ready for a fresh challenge in Spain? Redfox is working with a highly successful and progressive European fresh produce business to identify an experienced Farm Manager for its Spanish growing operation.
Our client is an established international producer supplying fresh produce across European markets, with Spanish production playing an important role in providing continuity through the winter season. They are now planning ahead for 2027 and looking to identify an outstanding individual capable of taking responsibility for the day-to-day management and continued development of their Spanish farming operation.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on senior farming position requiring someone who understands commercial crop production and knows how to lead people effectively.
Working closely with the wider European business, the Farm Manager will take responsibility for areas including:
Day-to-day management of the Spanish farming operationCrop planning, establishment, growing and harvestingDelivering yield, quality and production targetsManaging and developing farm teamsLabour planning and organisationIrrigation, nutrition and crop protectionMachinery and operational efficiencyCrop forecasting and production reportingEnsuring appropriate quality, environmental and compliance standardsWorking closely with technical, commercial and operational colleaguesContinually identifying opportunities to improve productivity, quality and efficiency
THE PERSON
We are particularly interested in individuals with experience of commercial fresh produce, herbs, salads, leafy crops, vegetables or similarly intensive cropping systems.
You will ideally demonstrate:
Strong practical crop-production knowledgeProven farm or growing management experienceExcellent people-management and leadership skillsExperience managing seasonal labour and farm teamsStrong planning and organisational abilityA commercially minded approach to farmingGood understanding of crop quality, yield and cost controlConfidence working autonomously while reporting into an international business
LANGUAGES
Fluent or highly proficient Spanish and English are essential.
German language capability would be advantageous but is not essential.
LOCATION
South-East Spain.
This is an operational, farm-based position and therefore requires the successful individual to be based locally or willing to relocate.
TIMING
The business is planning this appointment for 2027 following completion of the current Spanish season. However, Redfox is beginning conversations now and our client would be prepared to accelerate the process should we identify an exceptional individual.
