We are seeking a proactive and organized
Human Resources & Health and Safety Lead
to drive key human resource functions while championing occupational health and safety across the organization. This role is idóneo for a collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds strong employee relationships, and is passionate about maintaining a safe, compliant, and positive workplace culture. Combining HR expertise with exceptional interpersonal skills, you will play a vital role in shaping the employee experience from onboarding to day-to-day engagement and safety compliance.
Responsibilities Human Resources
Coordinate recruitment activities including job postings, interview scheduling, and onboarding
Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
Assist with benefits administration and employee programs
Support performance management and employee relations initiatives
Ensure compliance with employment legislation, policies, and procedures
Coordinate employee training and development activities
Assist with HR reporting and audits
Health & Safety
Support occupational health and safety programs and initiatives
Coordinate new hire safety orientation and training records
Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking
Administer worker’s compensation claims and return-to-work documentation
Maintain health and safety records and compliance documentation
Assist with workplace inspections and safety communications
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or related field 2+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator role
Experience supporting occupational health & safety programs is an asset
Working knowledge of employment and compliance standards in the provinces we operate (i.E. Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, PEI) Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Dayforce systems
Prior experience or knowledge within agriculture and warehousing considered an asset
