Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Psychiatrist role based in Zamora. The Psychiatrist will provide diagnostic assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions for individuals experiencing mental health conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting psychiatric evaluations, prescribing and monitoring psychopharmacological treatments, and coordinating care with psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
The role involves working with diverse populations, including adolescents and adults, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and participating in case conferences and multidisciplinary meetings.
The Psychiatrist will also contribute to preventive mental health initiatives, support crisis intervention, and engage in continuous professional development in accordance with SACYL’s clinical standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine and Psychiatry, with the ability to integrate medical and psychological perspectives in patient care.
- Proficiency in Psychiatric Care and Mental Health support, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up.
- Experience or training in Adolescent Psychiatry and broader Psychiatry practice, with sensitivity to age-specific needs.
- Relevant medical degree and completed residency or specialization in Psychiatry; valid license or eligibility to practice as a Psychiatrist in Spain.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Strong clinical judgment, ethical practice, and commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care.
- Comfort working in an on-site hospital or clinic setting in Zamora; Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in public healthcare or community mental health services is an advantage.
