About IIM
Infrastructure in Motion (IIM) is a boutique advisory firm and a leading specialist in traffic and revenue (T&R;) forecasting for toll roads and Managed Lanes. We advise lenders, investors, developers and public agencies across North America, Latin America and Europe on some of the most complex demand-risk transactions in the market, including US Express Lanes, Canadian toll assets and major PPP procurements. We are a small, senior team, which means real responsibility, direct client exposure and a visible impact on every project from day one.
The Role
We are looking for a transport modeller who can own the network modelling workstream on T&R; studies, from model build and calibration to forecasting, sensitivity analysis and reporting, and who is equally comfortable presenting results to clients and lenders.
What You’ll Do
▪ Build, calibrate and validate strategic and corridor-level highway models for toll roads and Managed Lanes
▪ Develop traffic and revenue forecasts, including toll choice, value of time and ramp-up assumptions
▪ Run scenarios and sensitivity tests to support investment-grade and bid-stage studies
▪ Review third-party models and forecasts as part of technical due diligence
▪ Write clear, well-sourced reports and present findings to clients, lenders and investors
▪ Contribute to proposals and business development across our core markets
What We’re Looking For
▪ 3–5 years of hands-on experience in transport network modelling for both private and public sector clients
▪ Strong command of at least one of TransCAD, PTV Visum or Cube
▪ Experience in microsimulation (e.g. PTV Vissim, Aimsun or similar) is a plus
▪ Direct experience on highway and toll road projects; Managed Lanes or express lanes experience is a strong plus
▪ Background in a T&R; or transport planning consultancy is highly valued
▪ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, owning deliverables end to end
▪ Rigour and attention to detail: you check your numbers and can defend every assumption
▪ Excellent communication skills and genuine commercial awareness, with confidence in front of clients
▪ Fluent English; Spanish and/or French are a plus
▪ Degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Economics or a related field; a Master’s is a plus
▪ Python, R or SQL for data processing is a plus
What We Offer
▪ Work on high-profile toll road and Managed Lanes transactions in the US, Canada, LatAm and Europe
▪ Close collaboration with senior partners with decades of T&R; experience
▪ Fast learning curve and room to grow with the firm
▪ Competitive compensation and versátil working: hybrid from our Madrid office or fully remote
