Description

The TALN Research group is looking for a research support person to assist the TALN director.

The tasks to be carried out are the following:

Assist the iDEM coordinator with the preparation of the final technical report of the iDEM project as well as collaborating with all aspects related to remaining open science activities in the project.

Organization and maintenance of the scientific assets of the TALN group. Assistance with activities related to Open science such as depositing data and publications in Open access repositories. Supporting the members of the TALN group with research activities including annotation, technical reporting, and dissemination of results.

Participate in activities related to project writing. Assist in the preparation and monitoring of ethical applications. Update the TALN members with funding and other research-related and tech-transfer opportunities.

Tasks to be performed:

- Assist the TALN director in technical reporting for projects and in particular for the iDEM project.
- Assist the TALN director and TALN personnel in grant preparation.
- Be in charge of the monitoring of Open Science activities in the group.
- Assist the TALN members to pursue funding and other research-related and tech-transfer opportunities.

The duration of these tasks is estimated over a period of 9 months.

Qualifications

Requirements:

- Acquainted with the TALN European Projects portfolio

- A master degree in any field

- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish,



Catalan desirable

- Working experience in a similar position in English, preferably at international level

- International working experience in academic environments, specially related to NLP

- Availability to travel.

- Experience in European projects

- Experience in the organization of workshops, meetings and related events

- Experience with ICT tools such as Office, Google tools, LaTeX, mailing, Web design tools, image and video editing software, etc.

- Creative, highly motivated individual with problem-solving skills

The expected start date is from 1st January 2027, the job is in Barcelona.

Selection criteria:

The selection of the candidates will be made through evaluation of the curriculum and, where appropriate, with the carrying out a test and/or interview. Valuation will be as follows:

1. Academic Training (0-20 points). Academic qualifications.

2. Professional Experience /Adequacy to the proposed profile (0-50 punts/ points)

- International experience, working in university environments, experience in EU projects and the group research portfolio

- Digital skills as requested by the position.

3. Other: demonstrated working experience in English (0-30).

The minimum score to pass the selection process is 70 points. The candidate with the highest score in the selection process will be offered the job and in case of resignation, the position will be awarded to the next person in order of score obtained.
