Job Summary: The Arizona Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for an Animal Health Inspector for our Animal Services Division.
The inspector will be responsible for inspection at Marana Livestock Auction and other inspections in their assigned areas.
Under direction from the Supervising Livestock Officer, the successful candidate will monitor the health and proper identification of animals moving within the state through on-site reviews at ranches, feedlots, dairies, exhibitions and auction markets.
Monitor compliance with self-inspection requirements and Beef Council fee collection by periodically reviewing records of livestock owners; investigate reports of stray livestock and notify owner, if known, or deliver to appropriate stray facility.




Support any emergency response that involves animals directly or indirectly.
Job Duties: Duties to include but not limited to: • Monitor the health and proper identification of animals moving during shipping season • Monitor compliance with Beef Council fee • Handle money and make weekly deposits • Prepare and appropriately submit activity reports, departmental case reports, time sheets, travel claims and any other related reports in accordance with department regulations • Work the Marana Livestock Auction • Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills
