The Role and Why It's ImportantOur Courtesy Clerks are an essential part of the Hy-Vee experience, helping customers from the register all the way to their car and keeping the store clean, stocked, and welcoming for everyone who walks through the door.
In this role, you'll package purchases, assist customers, maintain the store, and lend a hand wherever you are needed.

What You'll Do
No two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile, learning their names,



and going out of your way to make every visit a great onePackage customer purchases and assist customers in transporting them to their mode of transportationBring carts in from the parking lot and cart corrals throughout your shiftClean registers, restrooms, the break room, and the backroom, and sweep and mop floors as neededClean the can redemption area and empty recycle bins where applicableStock, face, and rotate merchandise, clean shelves, understand shelf tags, and know the location of merchandise in the store and backroomPull product forward on shelves to maintain a full, organized appearanceCheck prices on products as neededMaintain front end supplies including paper and plastic bags, receipt paper, and other necessary itemsHelp train new courtesy clerksDeliver product to customers and assist in all departments as requested within wage and hour guidelinesShovel, salt, and sand walkways as neededWork with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environmentAssist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assignedMaintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy?Vee policies and store guidelinesReport to work when scheduled and on timeYour SkillsTo be successful, you'll need to be able to:

You will have regular exposure to noise, temperature extremes, dampness, dirt, and cleaning chemicals or solvents.
