Our client, a prominent insurer, is seeking an experienced Senior Insurance Underwriter specializing in Commercial Lines to join their esteemed team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This role is pivotal in assessing, selecting, and pricing commercial risks to ensure profitability and portfolio balance. The Senior Underwriter will handle complex risks, provide guidance to junior underwriters, and contribute to the development of underwriting strategies. The adecuado candidate will possess a deep understanding of commercial insurance products, strong analytical abilities, and excellent decision-making skills. Underwrite a portfolio of commercial insurance risks, ensuring adherence to company guidelines and appetite. Analyze financial statements, risk exposures, and other relevant data to accurately assess and price risks. Develop appropriate terms, conditions, and pricing for commercial insurance policies. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters. Monitor portfolio performance and identify trends or emerging risks.



Collaborate with claims and risk control teams to ensure a holistic approach to client service. Participate in market analysis and competitor reviews. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A minimum of 6 years of experience in underwriting commercial insurance lines. Proven expertise in assessing and pricing various commercial risks (e.g., liability, property, commercial auto). Knowledge of insurance contracts, regulations, and market practices.
