Our client, WhatJobs Direct, is looking for a dedicated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Trainee Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Officer in Queenstown, Eastern Cape.

You will work under the guidance of experienced OHS professionals, assisting in the development and implementation of safety programs, conducting inspections, and promoting a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in conducting workplace safety inspections and risk assessments.
Support the development and implementation of OHS policies and procedures.
Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
Deliver safety awareness training and toolbox talks to employees.
Maintain OHS records, including accident reports and inspection logs.
Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.




Assist in identifying potential hazards and implementing control measures.
Contribute to the development of emergency preparedness plans.
Stay updated on best practices and advancements in OHS.
Collaborate with management and employees to foster a strong safety culture.
Requirements
A strong interest in occupational health and safety principles.
Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey safety information clearly.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must be willing to adhere to a hybrid work schedule in Queenstown, Eastern Cape.
A qualification in Safety Management, Environmental Health, or a related field is an advantage.
Physical ability to conduct site inspections as required.
A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
