What is it like to be a Mechanical Engineer at DHV Technology? As a Mechanical Engineer at DHV Technology, you will play a key role in the design and development of mechanical structures, mechanisms, and assemblies for space applications. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop reliable, high-performance hardware for our satellite solar panels and power subsystems, from initial concept and detailed design through manufacturing, integration, and qualification. You will contribute to the development of new products, ensuring mechanical designs meet technical requirements, manufacturing constraints, and the demanding conditions of the space environment.
Responsibilities Your main responsibilities will include: Designing mechanical structures, mechanisms, and assemblies for space applications. Developing 3D CAD models and preparing manufacturing and assembly documentation. Defining suitable materials, surface treatments, and manufacturing processes. Contributing to the technical definition and development of new products. Assessing technical feasibility and reviewing design requirements. Coordinating with FEM, Electronics, Systems, and Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) teams throughout product development. Preparing and reviewing technical design documentation, drawings, and specifications. Participating in internal and customer design reviews, including Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR). Providing technical support during manufacturing, hardware integration, and testing activities. Investigating and resolving mechanical design issues and supporting root cause analysis. Supporting hardware qualification and validation activities, including environmental testing. Contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering methods, design standards, and processes. Sharing technical knowledge and supporting junior engineers within the team. Education and Requirements To be considered for this position, the following qualifications are required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering,
Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design for technological or industrial products. Experience developing complex mechanical assemblies and preparing manufacturing and assembly documentation. Experience contributing to product development projects from conceptual design through qualification. Proficiency in advanced CAD tools, such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar. Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (minimum B2 level), both written and spoken. Candidates should demonstrate solid knowledge and experience in the following areas: 3D mechanical design and modeling. Preparation and interpretation of manufacturing and assembly drawings. Material selection, surface treatments, and manufacturing processes. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) and dimensional tolerances. Configuration management and technical documentation. Structural analysis fundamentals and Finite Element Analysis (FEA/FEM). Mechanical design for manufacturing, assembly, and product qualification. The following will be considered a plus: Knowledge of aerospace materials, including aluminum alloys, titanium, and composite materials. Experience supporting environmental testing, hardware integration, and design-test correlation. Familiarity with technical requirements management and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
