Role Description The First Assistant Director at La Rar4 Producciones is a full-time, on-site role based in Murcia. This role coordinates the daily operations of film shoots, including managing schedules, overseeing the set, and ensuring that production runs efficiently and safely.

The First Assistant

Director works closely with the director, producers, and department heads to translate the production plan into clear, actionable tasks, and to communicate timing, changes, and logistical needs to the crew.

Responsibilities include organizing call sheets, supervising rehearsals and blocking, monitoring time management on set, and supporting cast and crew in maintaining a productive working environment. The role also involves anticipating potential issues, proposing solutions,



and helping uphold the company’s commitment to authentic, respectful storytelling.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong production management skills, including experience with scheduling, call sheet preparation, and coordinating daily shooting plans.
- Candidates should possess set leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to direct crew activities, manage background action, and maintain clear communication among departments.
- Candidates should possess organizational and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail, capacity to prioritize under time pressure, and ability to anticipate and resolve on-set challenges.
- Candidates should possess interpersonal and communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, collaborative mindset, and the ability to work respectfully with diverse cast, crew, and community partners.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of film production processes, including understanding of shot lists and storyboards, basic technical awareness of camera and sound workflows, and familiarity with health and safety practices on set.
- Relevant qualifications include prior experience as a First Assistant Director or in similar roles, fluency in Spanish (and preferably English), and strong alignment with La Rar4 Producciones’ focus on culturally sensitive, authentic storytelling.
