HVDC Converter Package Manager - UK or Germany

Turner Lovell is recruiting an HVDC Converter Package Manager on behalf of an electricity transmission developer. You will lead onshore and offshore converter packages, managing technical interfaces, risks, quality, cost and programme throughout delivery.

The role

- Guide FEED studies and selection of the optimum converter configuration.
- Develop technical specifications and RFQ documentation, supporting procurement and contractual negotiations.
- Manage interfaces between engineering specialists, OEMs, suppliers and contractors.
- Review converter designs, system studies and technical reports.
- Oversee manufacturing, factory testing and installation, keeping delivery on time and within budget.




- Lead the technical team supporting OEM contract execution.
- Provide converter expertise for permitting, technical due diligence and new project opportunities.

Your background

- Master’s degree in Engineering and at least 10 years’ experience in engineering system delivery.
- Proven experience in HVDC converter design and onshore converter stations .
- Strong understanding of HVDC converter packages, including installation and testing.
- Experience taking projects forward from early development.
- Sound knowledge of the converter supply chain and confidence leading technical discussions and negotiations.
- Experience working with international, multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent English. German or French would be an advantage.
- Offshore converter station or offshore substation experience would be an advantage.
