A repair needs to be completed today, while new jobs continue to come in and inventory also requires attention. You keep a cool head, allocate the work across the team, and ensure that both quality and progress remain on track.
As Lead Service, you combine hands-on technical service work with the day-to-day coordination of activities. It’s a role for someone who enjoys getting stuck in while also keeping a clear overview.
Organization
Össur is an internationally operating company focused on the development and distribution of high-quality medical devices such as prosthetics and braces. The organization is known for its innovation, quality, and commitment to improving mobility and quality of life worldwide. Within the warehouse, teamwork, accuracy, and professionalism are key—especially in a dynamic international environment.
Function
As Lead Service, you are the operational lead for a team of Service Assistants. While you do not have formal line management responsibility for the team, you ensure that daily activities on the shop floor are effectively allocated and carried out. The team is responsible for the repair and servicing of bionic and mechanical products. You actively contribute to this work while ensuring the quality of all products leaving the work area.
Throughout the day, you make sure processes comply with applicable safety requirements and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and service levels. You also ensure that the department follows 5S principles and arrange training opportunities where needed. In addition, you maintain and service equipment and keep work instructions and related records up to date.
Hands-on service activities are also an important part of your role. You carry out repairs on mechanical knees and bionic products in line with agreed KPIs, record quality inspections in the relevant systems, and work closely with the Quality department on customer feedback.
