It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, was a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe), and is now hosting entity for EuroHPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe. Context And Mission The Operations Department ensures the continuous daily functioning of the Spanish Supercomputing Network supercomputers and remote access by users both within Spain and internationally. In addition to all the routine maintenance and operations tasks, the Department staff is also heavily involved in planning and designing new systems and support facilities.
We are offering a position for a High-Performance Computing support engineer. For this position, we are seeking a technology and Linux enthusiastic person who can learn from the basics of the HPC and develop the skills to become a specialist and an essential team member.



Resolve the incidences that the Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES) users may have during their executions, as well as assist them in developing their applications to obtain efficient use of the computational resources
Help the User Support and applications consultant group with performance application monitoring and parallel optimization.
Work in new solutions to improve the user experience using HPC resources
Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Experience and knowledge in Linux systems
Good level of English
Experience in MySQL, PYTHON and BASH script.

Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
Holidays: 22 days of holidays + 6 personal days + 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
