About the Role
Our client, a pioneering firm committed to environmental stewardship, is seeking a dedicated Architect specializing in Sustainable Design and Green Building practices to join their team in Mérida, Yucatán. This role is crucial for integrating eco-friendly principles and innovative sustainable technologies into all phases of architectural design and construction. The adecuado candidate will possess a deep knowledge of green building certifications (e.g., LEED, EDGE), renewable energy systems, and sustainable materials, along with a passion for creating environmentally responsible and healthy buildings. You will work on diverse projects, aiming to minimize environmental impact and maximize resource efficiency in the unique context of Yucatán. Key Responsibilities
* Lead the integration of sustainable design strategies into architectural projects from concept to completion.
* Conduct life-cycle assessments (LCAs) and environmental impact analyses for proposed designs.
* Specify sustainable materials, energy-efficient systems, and water conservation technologies.
* Manage the certification process for green building standards such as LEED, EDGE, or similar.
* Collaborate with clients, engineers, and consultants to achieve sustainability goals.
* Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to sustainable design features.
* Educate project teams and stakeholders on the benefits and implementation of green building practices.
* Stay current with the latest research, technologies,



and policies in sustainable architecture and climate-resilient design.
* Conduct site analyses to assess opportunities for passive design strategies, relevant to the climate of Mérida.
* Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability performance targets. Requirements
* Degree in Architecture with a specialization or significant coursework in Sustainable Design.
* Minimum of 6 years of experience in architectural design, with a strong focus on sustainable and green building projects.
* Professional certification as a LEED Green Associate, LEED AP, or equivalent.
* In-depth knowledge of sustainable building materials, energy modeling, and passive design principles.
* Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with sustainability assessment tools.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
* Experience with projects in tropical or sub-tropical climates, similar to Yucatán, is advantageous.
