About the Role Our client is searching for a highly experienced and visionary Remote Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and development of complex distributed systems. Key Responsibilities Architect, design, and implement highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems. Define and enforce best practices for building and operating distributed systems. Lead technical initiatives and drive the resolution of complex engineering challenges. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs. Mentor and guide senior and junior engineers, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing. Evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools to enhance system performance and reliability. Ensure the performance, scalability, and security of our distributed platforms. Conduct in-depth code reviews and provide expert technical guidance.



Troubleshoot and resolve critical issues in production environments. Contribute to the long-term technical vision and strategy for the engineering organization. Requirements Master's or Ph. D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience. Extensive experience in software engineering, with a significant focus on designing and building distributed systems. Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts (e.G., consensus algorithms, consistency models, fault tolerance, message queuing). Proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used in distributed systems (e.G., Java, Go, C++, Scala). Experience with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.G., Spark, Flink). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes). Strong understanding of networking protocols and security best practices. Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor engineering teams. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and architectural design skills. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, effective in remote collaboration.
