Cloud Operations Lead

Barcelona (Hybrid) Start date: ASAP Contract: Freelance or Permanent Project context We are looking for a Cloud Operations Technical Lead to oversee the performance, reliability and scalability of cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments. This role combines strong hands-on technical expertise with team leadership responsibilities. The candidate will act as a key reference within the cloud operations team, ensuring operational excellence, automation and continuous improvement of cloud platforms. Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate day-to-day cloud operations across Azure and AWS environments
* Ensure platform stability, performance and reliability
* Define and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep or CloudFormation
* Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment
* Manage priorities, delegate tasks and ensure timely delivery of operational objectives
* Oversee incident management, problem resolution and service improvements
* Implement automation and self-service capabilities for infrastructure and operations
* Ensure security controls and compliance through Policy-as-Code and IaC practices
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security, Infrastructure, Product) Required technical skills
* Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
* Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation or similar)
* Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps,



GitHub Actions or similar)
* Strong understanding of Azure networking (VNET, NSG, etc.)
* Experience managing cloud infrastructure, configurations and automated workflows
* Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, YAML, KQL or similar)
* Experience with testing automation frameworks
* Knowledge of security practices and Policy-as-Code implementation
* Familiarity with networking, databases, identity and operating systems Nice to have
* Experience with OpenShift or container platforms
* Exposure to multi-cloud environments
* Experience with advanced monitoring and observability tools Interpersonal skills
* Strong communication skills in English
* Leadership experience managing and mentoring technical teams
* Ability to work in Agile and ITIL-based environments
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Customer-oriented mindset with focus on service reliability
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar (or equivalent experience)
* 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and operations
* Proven experience leading technical teams in cloud / DevOps environments
* Strong experience in automation, infrastructure and enterprise cloud environments Additional information
