About the Role

Our client, a leading transportation and logistics conglomerate, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Transport Compliance Officer to join their dynamic team in a fully remote capacity, overseeing compliance for operations that include the Queenstown region. This critical role ensures adherence to all national and provincial transport legislation, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

- Ensure full compliance of all transport operations with national and provincial road traffic legislation, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive transport compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular internal audits of fleet operations, driver records, vehicle maintenance, and licensing to identify and rectify non-compliance issues.
- Investigate incidents, accidents,



and reported breaches of compliance, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice and training to operational staff, drivers, and management on transport regulations and best practices.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies, traffic authorities, and licensing departments as required.
- Monitor changes in legislation and ensure the company's policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
- Manage and maintain all compliance-related documentation and records, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies related to transport compliance.
- Promote a strong safety and compliance culture throughout the organization.

Requirements

- A minimum of 7 years of experience in transport compliance, road safety, or a related regulatory field, with significant experience in a senior or specialist role.
- In-depth knowledge of South African transport legislation, including the National Road Traffic Act and related regulations.
- Proven experience in conducting compliance audits and investigations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.




- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in using compliance management software and standard office applications.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Logistics, Auditing, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote setting.
- A proactive approach to identifying and addressing compliance risks.
