About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer with a specialization in structural and building design to join their growing team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role involves the design and supervision of structural elements for a range of building projects, from residential and commercial developments to public facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and compliance of designs, working closely with architects, contractors, and project managers. Key Responsibilities

- Undertake structural analysis and design for various building types, including concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
- Produce detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using advanced engineering software.
- Conduct site inspections during construction to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design requirements.
- Collaborate with architectural teams and other consultants to develop integrated building designs.
- Review contractor submittals,



including shop drawings and material specifications.
- Ensure designs meet all relevant building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

- BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Structural Engineering.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in structural and building design.
- Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure).
- Experience with construction methods and materials used in building projects.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
