Define and document data lineage across the Teradata data warehouse and Snowflake, bridging business meaning and technical implementation so that data can be traced from source to consumption.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather and clarify lineage requirements with business and technical stakeholders.
- Document lineage from source systems through the data warehouse and Snowflake layers to reports and downstream consumers.
- Translate business definitions and requirements into precise technical specifications and mappings.
- Work with the Metadata Collection engineer to use collected metadata as lineage input, and identify gaps in coverage.
- Validate lineage with data owners and engineers, and keep documentation current as systems change.
- Support prioritisation of lineage scope by business criticality.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Senior-level technical business analysis in data or information management.
- Understanding of Teradata and data warehouse principles.
- Working knowledge of Snowflake and its database design principles.
- Ability to read SQL and data models and to produce source-to-target mappings.
- Strong stakeholder management and documentation skills.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with lineage or catalogue tooling.
- Knowledge of Snowflake system databases and metadata.
