#VOIS #BeUnrivalled #CreateTheFutureAbout This RoleWe are seeking a Packet Core Planning Engineer to support the design, engineering and delivery of Packet Switched Data Core hardware and software solutions for Vodafone's European networks.
Based in Spain, you will work with technologies and network functions including SGSN, GGSN, MME, S/P-GW, AMF, SMF, UPF, NRF and 5G Standalone.
In this role, you will develop technical specifications, support software testing and release delivery, contribute to new functionality and defect resolution,



and help implement customer requirements across complex telecommunications environments.
You will also support optimisation initiatives focused on Packet Core systems and services.

What You'll Do
Implement and enhance customer-specific hardware and software design guidelines and methods for Packet Switched Data Core systemsDefine hardware and software requirements for Packet Core platformsSupport the design and delivery of Packet Core solutions across assigned Vodafone European networksDevelop technical specifications that translate customer requirements into implementable solutionsBuild test cases and acceptance plans for new software and system capabilitiesSupport software testing, acceptance and high-quality release deliveryContribute to the development of new Packet Core functions and the resolution of software defectsHarmonise information packages, including MML commands, to meet customer requirements across different marketsSupport capacity planning and dimensioning for Packet Core systemsAssist with the deployment and integration of hardware and software required to expand existing systemsAnalyse network requirements and contribute to optimisation initiatives involving SGSN, GGSN, MME, S/P-GW and 5G Standalone technologiesProduce technical documents and presentations covering guidelines,



system designs and implementation plansCollaborate with virtual teams and stakeholders across multiple countriesWho You AreYou hold a university degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or an equivalent disciplineYou have good knowledge of Packet Switched Data Core technologies and information systemsYou understand 3GPP Packet Core technologies, network functions and protocolsYou understand the software lifecycle, including design, development, testing, acceptance, implementation, performance optimisation and troubleshootingYou have a broad awareness of telecommunications and ICT technologiesYou understand the relationships and dependencies between information systemsYou can work effectively within virtual and multinational teamsYou communicate clearly with customers and technical stakeholders from different marketsYou apply sound judgement and structured problem-solving when addressing technically complex requirementsYou can prepare clear technical specifications, design documentation, test cases and acceptance plansNot a perfect fit?
