About the Role

Our client, a leading community center in **Queenstown, Eastern Cape**, is seeking a Senior Childcare Provider to lead their vibrant after-school program. This role is crucial in providing a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children aged 6-12 years during after-school hours. The Senior Provider will be responsible for planning and overseeing daily activities, managing a team of childcare assistants, and ensuring the well-being and development of all children in the program. Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the after-school program for school-aged children. Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities including homework assistance, arts and crafts, sports, and educational games. Supervise and mentor a team of childcare assistants, providing guidance and support. Ensure the safety and security of all children throughout program hours. Maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress and program activities. Manage program supplies, resources, and activity schedules.



Address behavioral issues constructively and implement positive discipline strategies. Liaise with school staff or administration as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces. Ensure compliance with all relevant childcare regulations and center policies.

Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of experience in childcare or youth development programs. Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role is highly desirable. Proven ability to plan and lead engaging activities for school-aged children. Strong understanding of child development for ages 6-12. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and motivate a team of assistants. First Aid and CPR certification required. Patient, responsible, and enthusiastic demeanor. Background check clearance will be required. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic group setting within **Queenstown**.
