About the Role

Our client, a leading engineering firm specializing in transportation infrastructure, is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer to join their team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role involves the planning, design, and supervision of road and related infrastructure projects, including highways, urban streets, and intersections. You will be instrumental in developing safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation networks that serve the needs of the Eastern Cape community and beyond. Responsibilities include conducting traffic studies, geometric design, pavement analysis, and drainage design. The idóneo candidate will possess strong technical skills, a thorough understanding of transportation engineering principles, and excellent project management capabilities. Key Responsibilities

- Design of road geometry, intersections, and interchanges.
- Conduct traffic analysis and forecasting.
- Design of road pavement structures and drainage systems.
- Preparation of technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Manage project phases from feasibility to construction supervision.
- Liaise with clients, government authorities (e.g., SANRAL, provincial departments), and contractors.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant South African road design standards (e.g.,



CSIR, TMH).
- Oversee site investigations and construction activities.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical capabilities.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation engineering and road design.
- Proficiency in transportation engineering software (e.g., Civil Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Pavement Engineering Software, Traffic Analysis Software).
- Strong understanding of road design standards, traffic engineering principles, and pavement design.
- Experience with project management and contract administration.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Queenstown, Eastern Cape.
- Valid driver's license.
