NoOffer DescriptionDevelopment of pattern recognition algorithms using machine learning techniques to improve the CMS experiment's Level-1 muon trigger system.
Conversion of these algorithms into firmware for execution on FPGAs featuring Versal AIE technology.ACADEMIC BACKGROUND, up to 3 points; NOTE: only qualifications related to the research line specified in the call for applications will be assessed.
Undergraduate academic background (or equivalent degree) (up to 2 points): academic record will be evaluated.
Completion of a final project/thesis related to the research line specified in the call for applications (up to 1 point): 3.0INTERVIEW/QUALIFYING TEST, up to 3 points.
In-person interview; if attendance is impossible due to force majeure, a practical test related to the research line will be conducted, consisting of: submission of a motivation letter for the offered position explaining the candidate's suitability for the role profile, accompanied by a letter of recommendation,



to be sent to the chair of the evaluation committee.

Experience gained during the completion of a doctoral thesis for a period of 24 months or longer will not be considered.
Participation in research projects and/or contracts, and internships at companies or research centers (up to 1 point).
Demonstrable experience in data analysis techniques, programming (Python, C++, etc.), firmware development, or participation in high-energy experimental physics experiments (up to 1 point).
Participation in summer programs or equivalents at internationally renowned research centers (up to 0.5 points).
Scientific publications in peer-reviewed, indexed journals and conference presentations (up to 0.5 points): up to 0.3 per publication and 0.2 per presentation: 3.0OTHER QUALIFICATIONS, up to 1 point.
NOTE: Only merits related to the research line covered by the call for applications will be considered.
