At Paul Marlex , we are partnering with established audit and professional services firms in Barcelona that are looking to strengthen their Financial Audit teams.

We are seeking Junior and Senior Auditors with a strong technical foundation, analytical skills, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in continuing to develop their careers in external auditing.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on your experience and seniority, your responsibilities will include:

- Perform financial audit procedures and review individual and consolidated financial statements.
- Analyse key accounting areas, including fixed assets, inventories, receivables, payables, cash, equity, revenue, and expenses.
- Review annual accounts and assess compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Identify and assess audit risks, evaluate internal controls, and perform substantive testing.
- Prepare and document audit working papers, findings, and conclusions.
- Analyse financial information, identify discrepancies, and assess potential accounting issues.
- Maintain direct communication with clients and collaborate with audit team members throughout the engagement.
- For Senior profiles: plan and coordinate audit engagements, supervise junior team members, review audit documentation,



and contribute to the preparation of audit reports and conclusions.

What Are We Looking For?

Junior Auditor

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in external auditing , preferably within an audit or professional services firm.
- Solid understanding of Spanish Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Spanish GAAP) and fundamental auditing procedures.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify accounting discrepancies and assess financial information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and motivation to develop a long-term career in auditing.

Senior Auditor

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in external auditing , ideally gained within a national or international audit firm.
- Strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP, International Standards on Auditing as adopted in Spain (NIA-ES), and financial audit methodologies.
- Proven experience conducting statutory audits and participating in all stages of the audit process.
- Ability to independently manage audit assignments,



coordinate junior team members, and communicate effectively with clients.
- Experience auditing corporate groups, companies across different industries, and consolidated financial statements will be highly valued.
