About the Role
Our client, a specialized engineering firm serving various industrial sectors, is seeking a highly skilled Precision Machining and Installation Technician for their operations in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This role demands expertise in both operating precision machinery (like CNC lathes and milling machines) and installing complex engineered components on?site. The adecuado candidate will have a strong background in mechanical assembly, blueprint reading, and a keen eye for detail to ensure precise fabrication and flawless installation. You will be involved in projects requiring a high degree of accuracy and craftsmanship, contributing to the successful deployment of critical equipment for clients in the Eastern Cape . This is a hands?on position requiring versatility and a commitment to quality in the challenging industrial landscape of Queenstown .
Key Responsibilities
Operate precision machining equipment, including CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to fabricate parts to exact specifications.
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Perform precise measurements using various metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure dimensional accuracy.
Assemble intricate mechanical components and systems according to technical documentation.
Conduct on?site installations of fabricated parts and equipment, ensuring proper fit and function.




Perform routine maintenance and calibration of machining equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues during fabrication and installation phases.
Adhere strictly to safety procedures and quality control standards throughout all operations.
Requirements
Trade qualification in Machining (e.g., Machinist, Toolmaker) or a related Mechanical Engineering discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in precision machining and mechanical assembly.
Proven proficiency with CNC machining operations and manual machining techniques.
Strong understanding of metallurgy and material properties.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Experience with on?site installation and mechanical fitting in industrial settings.
Valid driver licence and willingness to travel for installation projects within the Queenstown area and the broader Eastern Cape.
Excellent problem?solving skills and a strong focus on quality and precision.
