About the Role
Our client, a significant operator within the Oil & Gas industry , is seeking a vigilant HSE Advisor to ensure the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance for their field operations near Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This role is vital in promoting a robust safety culture, conducting risk assessments, and implementing effective HSE management systems. The adecuado candidate will possess strong knowledge of HSE regulations within the energy sector and have a proven track record of promoting safe working practices. Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific HSE plans and procedures.
Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and non-compliance.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international HSE legislation and standards.
Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees and contractors.
Promote a positive safety culture through engagement and communication.




Advise management on HSE matters and risk management strategies.
Maintain HSE records and prepare regular reports for management review.
Oversee emergency response preparedness and coordination.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and stakeholders on HSE matters.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within the Oil & Gas or industrial sector.
In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices in South Africa.
Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and hazard identification.
Experience in incident investigation and reporting.
Strong understanding of safety management systems (e.g., ISO *).
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to operational sites.
First Aid and Fire Fighting certifications are advantageous.
