ROLE PURPOSE Build data quality controls and monitoring on Snowflake, covering data migrated from or still sourced through the Teradata data warehouse, so that data quality is measured, visible and acted upon.

RESPONSIBILITIES Design and implement automated data quality checks, such as completeness, validity, consistency and reconciliation.
Build monitoring, thresholds and reporting so that issues are detected early and routed to the right owners.
Use Snowflake system databases and collected metadata to target and scale checks.
Reconcile data between the Teradata data warehouse and Snowflake where required.
Consider Snowflake Cortex capabilities where they improve detection or triage.
Document rules and results so they are understandable to business and technical stakeholders.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Strong hands-on Snowflake experience, including database design principles.
Understanding of Teradata and data warehouse principles.
Senior-level software engineering background with SQL and at least one scripting or programming language.
Experience building data quality or validation frameworks.
NICE TO HAVE Knowledge of Snowflake Cortex.
Experience with data quality tooling.
