At Synopsys, we're shaping the future of innovation from silicon to systems.
Building on decades of leadership in semiconductor design and electronic systems, the addition of ANSYS brings together world-class expertise in simulation, analysis, and engineering solutions. Together, we empower customers to design, test, and optimise everything from advanced semiconductor technologies and AI-powered systems to autonomous vehicles, aerospace platforms, industrial equipment, and next?generation products.
By combining industry?leading silicon design, IP, simulation, and digital engineering technologies, we help organisations accelerate innovation, reduce development risk, and bring breakthrough products to market faster.
Together, we're enabling the innovations that will define tomorrow.
You Are
You know power devices from the inside out: how they are built, packaged, and used, and more importantly, how they fail. Maybe you came up through thermo?mechanical reliability engineering, or maybe you spent years designing power devices and power electronics. Either way, you understand that simulation is not about running tools, it is about asking the right question at the right stage and trusting the answer enough to act on it.
Every load cycle is a temperature swing. Every swing stresses the hardware. CTE mismatch drives solder fatigue, wire bond lift?off, and delamination, and you have learned to turn mission profiles into lifetime predictions that actually hold up on the test bench. You treat electrical, thermal, and mechanical behaviour as one coupled problem because you have seen electrically optimal designs fail in the field when someone ignored the physics.
You can walk into a room with a customer's engineering team, quickly understand their device technology, packaging constraints,
and reliability targets, then map a simulation strategy that fits their workflow. Strong opinions about application engineering come naturally to you. You push back on fragile workflows, on feature requests that miss the real problem, and on treating reliability as an afterthought.
What You'll Be Doing
Shape customers' simulation strategies by partnering with senior power electronics teams to understand their roadmaps, reliability goals, and constraints, then define workflows aligned with their design processes
Build die-to-board Multiphysics workflows that couple electrical, thermal, and structural analysis across the substrate, package, and PCB to predict hotspots, warpage, and interconnect fatigue before they reach the lab
Drive thermal?mechanical reliability by turning mission profiles into junction temperature cycling, predicting solder fatigue, wire bond lift?off, and delamination, and correlating the results with power cycling and test data
Prove value on real designs by leading technical evaluations and benchmarks that show measurable impact, not just impressive demos
Be the voice of the customer by challenging fragile workflows, bringing R&D; feature requests grounded in real problems, and helping shape the product roadmap
Scale expertise by creating best practices, application notes, and training materials that help customers and colleagues get more out of the tools
Support field and digital marketing by contributing to technical content, customer case studies, and industry events focused on thermal?mechanical and reliability for power semiconductor applications
The Impact You Will Have
Enable customers in data centre power delivery, electric vehicle powertrains, and renewable energy systems to accelerate their product development cycles and improve performance metrics through better simulation workflows
Drive adoption and expansion of Ansys solutions across the power electronics segment by proving technical value in real customer design environments
Shape the product roadmap for power electronics simulation by channelling deep customer insight and application requirements back to engineering teams
Build repeatable, scalable workflows that become the standard methodology for electrothermal, thermomechanical, and reliability simulation in power module and PMIC design
Reduce time?to?revenue for strategic accounts by solving technical blockers, proving ROI, and ensuring customers can deploy and scale Ansys tools independently
Contribute to the long?term growth of the Ansys business within Synopsys by turning technical wins into commercial momentum and customer loyalty
What You'll Need
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or BS with 5+ years of professional experience in an engineering software or power electronics design environment
Subject matter expertise in power electronics, ideally with industry experience in power converters, power modules, or power management ICs structural mechanics and reliability
Demonstrated use of commercial EDA or CAE software such as circuit simulators, elec
