At Quest General, it's not just what we do but how and why we do it that makes us different. With over 25 years as an engineering services provider, we believe in the power of doing things differently to make the impossible possible. Our people are driven by the desire to make the world a better place—to make a positive difference that contributes to a brighter future. We bring together technologies and industries, alongside the contributions of diverse individuals who are empowered by an intentional workplace culture, to solve problems better and faster.
Key Responsibilities
1. Wind Resource Assessment
Perform detailed wind resource assessments using met mast, LiDAR and other available wind data sources.
Analyze wind speed, wind direction, turbulence, wind shear, air density and other relevant wind characteristics.
Perform data quality checks, validation and interpretation of wind measurements.
Evaluate wind resource characteristics and identify potential risks and uncertainties.
2. Wind Resource & Risk Analysis
Conduct wind-related technical risk assessments for wind farm projects.
Assess uncertainties associated with wind measurements, long-term correlation, extrapolation and energy production estimates.
3. WRA Files & Project Documentation
Prepare, maintain and review WRA files and project datasets.
Ensure traceability, consistency and version control of WRA inputs, analyses and deliverables.
Support internal and external audits, certification and project reviews.
4. Wind Farm Forms (WFFs)
Prepare, validate and maintain Wind Farm Forms (WFFs) for wind farm projects.
Create WFFs using multiple Horizontal Extrapolation (HE) cases and relevant wind resource inputs.
Evaluate and compare different HE scenarios and their impact on wind farm performance.
Generate maps and visualizations to clearly represent wind resource, turbine locations, sectors and extrapolation results.
Ensure WFFs are technically consistent with project requirements and applicable standards.
5. AEP Assessment & Reporting
Perform and/or support Annual Energy Production (AEP) assessments.
Analyze wind resource, turbine performance, wake effects, availability, electrical losses, environmental losses and other relevant loss factors.
Prepare AEP reports and supporting technical documentation.
Review results for technical accuracy, consistency and completeness.
Present technical findings and conclusions to project stakeholders.
6. Curtailment Impact Assessment
Perform curtailment impact assessments for wind farm projects.
Quantify the impact of different curtailment strategies on energy production.
Support development and optimization of curtailment strategies considering energy yield and project constraints.
7. Automation Analytics & Monitoring
Support automation and standardization of WRA workflows
Validate WRA calculations, reports and generated outputs.
Support data monitoring, diagnostics and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work with software and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
9. Technical Review & Stakeholder Coordination
Independently review WRA analyses,
reports and project deliverables.
Perform peer reviews of technical work and provide constructive technical feedback.
Interface with engineering, software, project management, certification and other cross-functional teams.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
