We are looking for an OTC Billing Accountant to join our Accounting team in Spain to help us take our Order to Cash processes to the next level.
As a Billing Analyst, you will collaborate with multiple Sulzer Legal Entities and engage with diverse stakeholders, including Project Managers, Finance Heads, the CoE Accounting Manager, the Reporting and Analytics team, and external customers.
Your main tasks and responsibilitiesPrepare and issue invoices to customers based on service agreements and purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in billing details and compliance with contractual termsClosely collaborate with the local Project ManagerReview and reconcile billing data for completeness and accuracy, making necessary adjustments or correctionsEnsure timely invoice dispatch to third-party customers in line with customer requirements, complying with local regulations (e.g., B2B e-invoicing)Collaborate with sales, customer service, the cash collections team, and project management teams to gather necessary information for billing, and to resolve any billing-related issues and queriesMaintain and update customer billing information and records in the billing systemPerform AR, Revenue & Aging analysisSupport the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations related to billingGenerate and analyze billing reports, providing insights and recommendations to improve the billing process and reduce errorsClosely collaborate with the Reporting & Analytics team on thisEnsure compliance with OTC internal controls,



accounting policies, and regulatory requirements related to billing operationsParticipate in the implementation and improvement of billing systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy, in cooperation with the OTC GPOProvide support during internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and addressing auditor inquiries related to billingSupport the intercompany billing processSupport definition and preparation of KPIs in the billing areaTo succeed in this role, you will needUniversity degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related fieldMinimum of 2 of experience in billing in a similar roleExperience within the manufacturing or industrial sectors is preferredStrong understanding of the Order to Cash cycleStrong understanding of accounting principles, revenue recognition and billing processProficiency in interpreting billing reportsExcellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skillsStrong communication skills for delivering key insights to i.e. Senior Billing Accountants, CoE Accounting Manager, Reporting & Analytics team and Country Finance HeadsExperience in Integral Business Services or Finance Shared Services organizations will be highly valuedExperience with ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, iScala) highly valuedProficiency in MS Office (Excel,
