About the Role Our client, a dynamic automotive manufacturer known for its commitment to quality and innovation, is seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Test Engineer to join their team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role is integral to ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of automotive components and systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans, analyzing test data, and providing crucial feedback to the engineering and development teams. Key Responsibilities Design and develop detailed test plans, procedures, and protocols for various automotive components and systems. Execute tests in laboratory environments and potentially on test tracks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications. Operate and maintain testing equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems. Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures or performance issues, and provide clear, concise reports to engineering teams. Collaborate with design and development engineers to troubleshoot problems and recommend design improvements. Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations. Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies, processes,



and equipment. Mentor junior test engineers and technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in automotive testing and validation. Proven experience in developing and executing test plans for powertrain, chassis, electrical, or other automotive systems. Proficiency with data acquisition systems and test automation software. Strong understanding of automotive components, vehicle dynamics, and performance metrics. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience with simulation tools and their integration with test data is an advantage.
