About the role
Our client, an engineering and technical services organisation, needs an Instrument Technician on a contract basis. You’ll install, calibrate, test, maintain and troubleshoot field instrumentation and control equipment, so systems run accurately, safely and reliably. Alongside planned calibration and maintenance, you’ll diagnose faults and get equipment back into service quickly. You’ll work closely with electrical, mechanical and operations colleagues to keep the work coordinated and safe. Install, connect and commission field instruments and control equipment Calibrate and test instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow and level transmitters Carry out loop checks and functional testing of instrument and control circuits Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control valves Diagnose and resolve faults in instruments, wiring and control loops Keep accurate calibration, test and maintenance records Work safely,



following permit-to-work and site safety procedures Coordinate with electrical, mechanical and operations teams Experience as an Instrument Technician or in a similar instrumentation and control role Good knowledge of common field instruments and control valves Relevant technical qualification in instrumentation, electrical or a related field Experience with commissioning on industrial projects Familiarity with PLC or DCS systems from a field instrumentation perspective Experience in process, energy or industrial plant environments Contract role with an engineering and technical services organisation Hands-on work across installation, calibration, maintenance and fault finding This contract role suits an instrument technician who takes pride in accurate, safe and well-documented work.
