About the Role

Our client, a specialized engineering firm serving various industrial sectors, is seeking a highly skilled Precision Machining and Installation Technician for their operations in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . Key Responsibilities

- Operate precision machining equipment, including CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to fabricate parts to exact specifications.
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Perform precise measurements using various metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Assemble intricate mechanical components and systems according to technical documentation.
- Conduct on‑site installations of fabricated parts and equipment, ensuring proper fit and function.




- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of machining equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during fabrication and installation phases.

Requirements

- Trade qualification in Machining (e.g., Machinist, Toolmaker) or a related Mechanical Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in precision machining and mechanical assembly.
- Proven proficiency with CNC machining operations and manual machining techniques.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy and material properties.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience with on‑site installation and mechanical fitting in industrial settings.
- Valid driver licence and willingness to travel for installation projects within the Queenstown area and the broader Eastern Cape.
