About the Role

Our client, a reputable structural and civil engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role is crucial for the design and oversight of structural components for a variety of building and infrastructure projects within the region. Key Responsibilities

- Lead the structural design and analysis for a diverse range of projects, including commercial buildings, residential complexes, industrial facilities, and bridges.
- Prepare detailed structural calculations, drawings,



and specifications using relevant software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SAP2000, ETABS).
- Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations to inform design decisions.
- Manage structural engineering aspects of projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Liaise effectively with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical supervision and mentorship to junior structural engineers and CAD technicians.
- Perform structural assessments and inspections of existing structures.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards (SANS), and regulations.
- Review shop drawings and construction submittals for structural compliance.
- Identify and resolve structural design and construction challenges proactively.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA or eligibility for registration.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in structural engineering design.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, including BIM tools.
- Strong knowledge of concrete, steel, timber, and masonry design principles.
- Demonstrated experience in project management and team leadership.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage client relationships.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for site inspections.
- Understanding of construction processes and site challenges.
