About the Role

Our client, a significant player in the banking and finance sector, is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Auditor to join their Internal Audit department in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role provides an excellent foundation for a career in audit, offering exposure to various operational and financial processes within the organization. The successful candidate will assist senior auditors in planning, executing, and reporting on internal audits. This is a hands‑on role requiring diligent fieldwork and adherence to established audit methodologies. The position is based in our Queenstown office, ensuring close collaboration with the audit team and business units.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the execution of internal audit engagements as per the annual audit plan.
- Perform audit tests, gather evidence, and document findings in accordance with audit standards.
- Review financial records, operational processes, and internal controls for compliance and efficiency.
- Identify control weaknesses and operational inefficiencies, documenting them clearly.
- Prepare audit working papers and draft sections of audit reports under supervision.
- Communicate effectively with auditees to gather information and clarify findings.
- Stay updated on auditing best practices, internal control frameworks, and regulatory requirements.




- Participate in follow‑up procedures to assess the implementation of management's action plans.
- Support the internal audit team in ad‑hoc projects and investigations as needed.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or a related business discipline.
- A strong interest in internal audit and risk management within the financial services industry.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and internal control concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and documentation.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and investigative skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, objectivity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently manage assigned tasks.
- Prior internship or experience in audit or accounting is an advantage.
