About the Role

Our client, a leading service provider within the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking a skilled Production Chemist to join their expanding operations. This role is based in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, ZA , and will be integral to supporting production and enhancing oil recovery efforts. The adecuado candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry, fluid properties, and chemical treatments relevant to oil and gas production. This is a field-focused position requiring hands-on laboratory work and on-site technical support. We are looking for a meticulous and results-oriented individual who can develop and implement effective chemical solutions to optimize production and address operational challenges. Your expertise will play a vital role in maximizing asset performance and ensuring the efficient extraction of hydrocarbons for our client's customers. Key Responsibilities

- Analyze production fluids (oil, gas, water) to determine composition, identify contaminants, and assess quality.
- Develop and recommend chemical treatment programs for production enhancement, corrosion control, scale inhibition, and demulsification.
- Conduct laboratory testing to evaluate the performance and compatibility of production chemicals.
- Monitor the effectiveness of applied chemical treatments and adjust programs as needed.
- Troubleshoot production chemistry issues, such as emulsion problems, scaling, or corrosion, and provide timely solutions.
- Collaborate with production engineers and field operations personnel to implement and manage chemical treatment strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of analytical results, treatment dosages,



and performance data.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations related to chemical handling and usage.
- Stay updated on new technologies and chemical solutions in production chemistry.
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations for clients and management.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in production chemistry, specifically within the Oil & Gas industry or related field.
- Strong knowledge of analytical techniques and instrumentation used in fluid analysis.
- Understanding of reservoir fluids, production processes, and the application of production chemicals.
- Experience with corrosion monitoring, scale inhibition, and demulsification techniques.
- Excellent laboratory skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with field teams.
- Willingness to work on-site in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, ZA and potentially travel to other operational locations.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and HSEQ standards.
