About the Role
Our client, a prominent catering company servicing large-scale events in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, is seeking a reliable and experienced Catering Service Supervisor. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of food and beverage services at various events, from conferences to celebrations. You will lead a team of catering staff on-site, oversee service flow, manage client expectations, and ensure adherence to service standards and hygiene protocols. Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and direct catering staff during event setup, service, and breakdown in Queenstown.
* Ensure all service staff adhere to company standards for professionalism, appearance, and guest interaction.
* Manage the efficient flow of food and beverage service, ensuring timely delivery and guest satisfaction.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in service areas.
* Assist in training new service staff on procedures and protocols.
* Conduct pre-event briefings with the catering team to review event details and service requirements.
* Address and resolve any service-related issues or guest complaints promptly and effectively.




* Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food.
* Manage inventory of service items (linens, cutlery, glassware) during events.
* Report on event service performance to the Operations Manager. Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role within the catering or hospitality industry.
* Proven ability to manage and motivate a service team.
* Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Strong understanding of food and beverage service standards and hygiene protocols.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced event environment.
* Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by event schedules in Eastern Cape.
* Must be physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
* A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering quality service.
