B2B Executive Researcher - AI Readiness

(part-time, Barcelona hybrid)

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys picking up the phone and talking to CEOs. Not to sell them anything, but to ask them good questions about how ready their business is for AI, and to turn what they tell us into research we'll share back with them.

About us

Deep Rethink helps research, events and B2B information companies build deeper client relationships and a more valuable business as AI changes how research is bought and used. We're small, founder-led and based in Barcelona, with customers across the UK, Europe and the US.

What you'll actually do

- Phone senior people (CEO, COO, CRO) at analyst research firms, one sector at a time, and invite them into a short AI-readiness research conversation
- Hold that conversation well: follow our question framework, listen properly, and ask the intelligent second question when an answer deserves it
- Follow up missed calls and open threads by email and LinkedIn
- Keep HubSpot accurate and complete, so your calls and notes can become the report
- Help us spot the patterns and the surprises in what you're hearing
- Once we've covered analyst firms, move on to B2B events companies, conference producers and expert networks

Day to day this will feel like cold calling, because it is. The difference is the destination: a thoughtful 20-minute conversation with a smart, busy person who ends up glad they took the call, and a research report they'll want to read.

Who we think you are

- Native or near-native English (Spanish helpful, not essential)
- 2+ years in a demanding phone-based role where you had to get senior strangers to talk to you: B2B research, conference production,



journalism, executive search, customer insight, or outbound sales where you cared about the conversation, not just the meeting
- Self-motivated: you make the next call without being asked, and you don't need the list to be perfect before you start
- Unbothered by rejection and good-humoured about it; the occasional rude response doesn't dent your afternoon
- Curious about AI, data and how information businesses make money
- Comfortable with HubSpot, LinkedIn and desk research (or quick to learn)

What this isn't

- It isn't a sales role. There's nothing to pitch and no commission
- It isn't a research role you can do entirely from behind a keyboard. The phone is the job
- It isn't a pitch in disguise. The research is real and participants get the findings

What we offer

- €28,000–€32,000 gross base for 25 hours/week, plus a quality bonus of up to €4,000 tied to completed interviews, data quality and the evidence pack
- Indefinite contract after a three-month probation
- Adaptable about how the 25 hours are spread across the week, as long as they include some European, UK and East Coast US working hours
- One day a week in our Barcelona office; the rest from wherever you work best
- Working with the founder, who'll do the first calls alongside you, and a role that will grow with the evidence you create. The person who has spoken to a few hundred leaders in this market will be unusually well placed for what comes next
