About the Role

Our client, a prominent geoscience services company supporting the energy sector, is seeking a skilled Geophysical Data Analyst to join their fully remote team. This role is crucial for the processing, interpretation, and quality control of seismic data acquired from various exploration projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical aptitude, expertise in geophysical software, and a deep understanding of seismic data characteristics and processing workflows. This remote-first position offers the convenience of working from home while requiring dedication, meticulous attention to detail, and effective virtual communication. You will contribute to the vital effort of subsurface imaging and exploration.

Key Responsibilities

- Process and analyze seismic data using industry-standard software packages (e.g., OpendTect, Petrel, Kingdom).
- Perform quality control checks on raw and processed seismic data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Assist in the interpretation of seismic data to identify geological structures and potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of seismic processing workflows.
- Collaborate with geophysicists, geologists, and other team members through virtual communication platforms.
- Prepare reports, visualizations, and documentation of data analysis activities.
- Stay updated on the latest techniques and technologies in seismic data processing and interpretation.
- Troubleshoot data processing issues and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure adherence to company standards and project-specific requirements for data management and analysis.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geology, Physics,



or a related Earth Science discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in seismic data processing and analysis within the oil and gas or broader energy industry.
- Proficiency with seismic processing software (e.g., OpendTect, MGS, ProMAX/DION) and interpretation platforms (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom).
- Solid understanding of seismic wave propagation, acquisition methods, and processing principles (e.g., migration, stacking, filtering).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent data visualization and reporting capabilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a remote setting.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data manipulation is an advantage.
