About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and astute Legal Compliance Officer to join their organization in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This role is instrumental in ensuring that the company operates in full accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. The Legal Compliance Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, conducting internal audits, and providing guidance on regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs and policies.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and ensure the company remains compliant.
- Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues.
- Investigate and address any compliance breaches or concerns.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance-related matters.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors.
- Prepare compliance reports for senior management and the board of directors.




- Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of new business initiatives and projects.
- Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to data protection and privacy regulations.

Requirements

- Completed LLB degree or a relevant degree in law, compliance, or a related field.
- Admission as an Attorney or Advocate is a significant advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal compliance, risk management, or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of South African laws and regulations relevant to the industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- High degree of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Proficiency in compliance management software and standard office applications.
- Must be available to work full-time at our office in Queenstown, Eastern Cape .
