Position: Platform Engineer / Senior Backend Software Engineer

Location:
Spain (Remote, One time 2.5-day onsite visit to Sant Cugat del Vallès in September) Duration: Permanent / Freelance. Overview Seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to develop and maintain cloud-native microservices and REST APIs in AWS environments. The role focuses on scalable backend systems, Kubernetes-based deployments, API development, and platform modernization with technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Python (FastAPI), and Go . Core Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java (Spring Boot) and Python (FastAPI) backend services.
- Design and build REST APIs and microservices.
- Work with AWS services including Lambda and DynamoDB.




- Deploy and manage applications using Docker and Kubernetes .
- Define API specifications using OpenAPI .
- Implement automated testing and TDD practices.
- Develop automation scripts using Bash .
- Contribute to Go adoption , event-driven architectures, and platform improvements.
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability. Must-Have Skills
- Java & Spring Boot
- REST API Development.
- Strong experience with AWS
- Experience with Docker & Kubernetes
- Experience with Cloud-Native / Microservices Architectures
