Position Summary The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and continuously improving health and safety requirements across IREN’s data-centre design and construction activities in Spain. The role integrates health and safety considerations into project planning, design reviews, procurement, construction execution, testing and commissioning, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, IREN standards, and project-specific requirements. Working within the Design & Construction department and reporting to the Director of Design & Construction, the role coordinates with engineering, project management, environmental and social, commissioning, contractors, and site teams to identify and control risk, verify compliance, monitor performance, and promote consistent safe working practices throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities Reporting to the Design & Construction Director, the Health and Safety Manager is responsible for:
• Implement and maintain the health and safety management approach for IREN’s data-centre design and construction projects, translating legal, corporate, and project requirements into practical procedures, controls, and site expectations.
• Integrate health and safety requirements into design development, technical reviews, constructability assessments, procurement, and project planning by identifying hazards early and coordinating proportionate preventive measures with engineering and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate contractor and subcontractor health and safety activities by reviewing plans and risk documentation, supporting prequalification and onboarding, clarifying IREN expectations, and verifying compliance throughout construction delivery.
• Conduct and coordinate site inspections,

audits, risk reviews, and assurance activities across active projects, recording findings, agreeing corrective actions, and following up with accountable parties until effective closure.
• Manage incident, near-miss, and unsafe-condition reporting and investigation within the project portfolio, identifying root causes, monitoring corrective and preventive actions, and sharing relevant lessons across Design & Construction teams.
• Monitor project health and safety performance through consistent indicators, contractor data, and site observations, preparing clear reports and escalating significant risks or non-compliance to the Director of Design & Construction and relevant project leadership.
• Coordinate health and safety training, inductions, emergency preparedness, and communication initiatives for project teams and contractors, supporting safe interfaces between construction, energisation, testing, commissioning, and operational handover. Requirements
• Degree or post-secondary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; recognised health and safety accreditation is highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant health and safety experience in construction, engineering, energy, industrial, mission-critical, or other complex infrastructure projects,

with exposure to multi-contractor environments.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish occupational risk-prevention and construction health and safety requirements, including contractor coordination, site documentation, inspections, incident management, and emergency preparedness.
• Experience reviewing construction-phase health and safety plans, risk assessments, method statements, permit-to-work controls, and contractor performance documentation.
• Ability to work effectively with design, engineering, project management, environmental and social, commissioning, operations, contractors, and external advisers across multiple projects and locations.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication, and influencing skills, with the judgement to prioritise critical risk, challenge unsafe practices, and support practical corrective action without direct authority.
• Working proficiency in English and Spanish, together with the ability to travel regularly to IREN project and construction sites in Spain.
• Working knowledge of digital tools used for inspections, incident reporting, corrective-action tracking, contractor assurance, and health and safety performance reporting. Compensation
• Compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and market data for the region.
• Total Compensation package may be inclusive of annual incentive bonus, and equity (long-term incentive) Health & Wellness
