The Role As a Mid Backend Software Engineer, you'll independently design, build, and optimize backend systems, not just implement tickets. You'll help shape scalable architecture, keep code quality high, and act as a technical reference point for junior engineers on the team. This is a role for someone who's past needing guardrails and ready to help set them for others.

What You'll Do
* Independently design, develop, and optimize backend solutions end to end.
* Design scalable backend systems with maintainability and performance in mind.
* Contribute to the development and improvement of CI/CD pipelines.
* Develop unit tests and automate workflows to keep code quality high.
* Act as a technical reference for junior engineers --
- guidance, not hand-holding.
* Document backend systems so the whole team can build on them, not just you.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to improve APIs and database systems. What We're Looking For (Must-Have)
* Professional experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python, implementing real business logic autonomously.
* Solid hands-on experience with Express, FastAPI, or Fastify, and designing scalable backend services.
* Strong PostgreSQL skills, schema design,



query optimization, data integrity.
* Experience with Kafka or similar for asynchronous, service-to-service communication.
* Comfortable working across dev, staging, and production environments.
* You write clean, testable code, and you're just as comfortable reviewing someone else's. Nice to Have
* Prior experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
* Exposure to cloud environments and deployment support.
* A track record of proposing system or process improvements, not just executing them.
