Would you be interested in continuing your career as aProtection Engineerwithin a leading company in theelectrical energy and infrastructure sector, working on technically challengingsubstation projectsand using advanced protection and control technologies in an international environment?From Oxigent Technologies, we are selecting aProtection Engineerto participate in a project involving thetesting, commissioning and configuration of protection and control systems in electrical substations, located near to Lisbon, Portugal.In this role, you will be responsible for thecommissioning and testing of Medium Voltage protection systems ,as well as supporting the technical engineering team during the commissioning phase.What will be your main responsibilities?Performtesting and commissioning of protection and control systemsin Medium Voltage substations, particularlyF400 and CBGS1 switchgear .Configure and implementprotection relay settings, especiallyMICOM P5 and P746, and verify associated systems.Preparetest protocolsand perform field testing usingsecondary injection with Omicron CMC test sets .Carry outFAT/SAT testing, diagnose and resolvedynamic technical issuesduring commissioning, and prepare as-built documentation.Configure and verifyIEC 61850 and Modbus TCP communication protocols, includingGOOSE signalsand interfaces with theEMCS control system .Providetechnical support to the substation engineering teamand perform advanced equipment parameterization.What will you need?Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Industrial Engineering,



Higher Vocational Training or equivalent technical experience in protection and control systems.At least3 years of experiencein testing, commissioning and configuringMedium/High Voltage protection systems .Fluent Portuguese -it will be the main language for daily communication on site.Intermediate/Advanced Spanish and/or English.Hands‑on experience withMICOM protection relays, particularlyP5 and P746 .Advanced experience usingOmicron CMC test setsfor secondary injection testing.Good knowledge ofIEC 61850, includingGOOSE signals, andModbus TCP .Knowledge of relevantIEC and IEEE standardsapplicable to protection systems and electrical substations.Experience testing interfaces withEMCS control systems .Experience incritical infrastructure or Data Center projectswill be considered a plus.Familiarity withF400 and CBGS1 Medium Voltage switchgearwill be highly valued.What do we offer?Permanent contractthrough Oxigent.One-year on-site project in Portugal, with the possibility of extension.Freelance — €50–55/hourcontractor rate.If you are based in Spain, a permanent contractis also available, with a gross annual salary of up to €48,000.Full-time schedule, Monday to Friday.100% on-site workat the project site.Accommodation provided and covered by the company.
