We're looking for a Product Designer to help shape the future of Spendesk's product experience, with a particular focus on AI-powered and automation-driven workflows. You'll work within a cross-functional squad alongside Product Managers and Engineers to design and deliver experiences that solve meaningful user problems and create value for both customers and the business. You'll take ownership of design work from problem definition through to delivery and iteration. We're looking for someone who can work autonomously within their product area, develop a strong understanding of users and workflows, explore different approaches, and make thoughtful design decisions grounded in evidence. A key part of this role will also be helping us evolve Spendesk's design system. We're looking for someone with hands‐on experience building a comprehensive design system: not only defining reusable components and patterns, but also establishing the documentation, contribution processes, governance, and ways of working that make a system scalable and sustainable across teams. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and other designers throughout the process: clarifying problems, contributing to discovery, designing and validating solutions, ensuring quality through implementation, and helping teams adopt shared standards consistently. You'll also contribute to the wider design team by sharing knowledge, giving constructive feedback, and helping us continuously improve our product experience and design practices. Design at Spendesk The Product Design team plays a strategic role in shaping Spendesk's platform and user experience. Designers work as partners within cross‐functional teams,
collaborating with Product, Engineering, Data, and other stakeholders throughout discovery, design, delivery, and iteration. Our design system is a core part of how we create coherent experiences at scale, and we are continuing to strengthen both the system itself and the processes that support its adoption and evolution. As AI and automation become increasingly central to financial operations, we're exploring how intelligent systems can help users move faster while maintaining transparency, trust, and control. Own end-to-end design work within your product area, from problem definition through delivery and iteration. Conduct appropriate user research and validation to inform design decisions and reduce uncertainty. Design intuitive, accessible, and consistent workflows that simplify complex financial and operational tasks. Help evolve the design system across components, patterns, documentation, contribution models, governance, and adoption processes, partnering closely with Design and Engineering. Use customer feedback and product data to evaluate outcomes, iterate on solutions, and contribute knowledge and feedback to the wider design team. Three or more years of experience designing digital products in cross‐functional product teams.
Experience autonomously owning design work from problem definition through delivery and iteration. Strong interaction design and information architecture skills, particularly for complex workflows or data‐heavy experiences. Hands‐on experience building or significantly evolving a comprehensive design system, including reusable components and patterns as well as documentation, contribution processes, governance, and adoption. Strong organisation and autonomy, with the ability to prioritise work, respond to changing context, and proactively move projects forward. Familiarity with experimentation and data‐informed product development. Experience working with coded component libraries or closely partnering with front‐end engineers on design‐system implementation. Take meaningful ownership of product design work from discovery through delivery. Help shape and scale a design system used across a complex product ecosystem. Work on complex challenges at the intersection of finance, operations, AI, and user experience. Join a collaborative and international product organisation with a versátil hybrid model. Collaborative live workshop focused on product thinking, systems thinking, design systems, and cross‐functional collaboration. Final conversations with Product and Design leadership. By simplifying procurement, payment cards, expense management, invoice processing, and accounting automation, Spendesk sets the new standard for spending at work for companies with up to 1,000 employees. Trusted by thousands of companies, Spendesk supports over 200,000 users across brands such as SoundCloud, Pigment, and Bloom & Wild.
